The founding observation was simple and persistent: translation agencies matched bilingual professionals to content based on availability and language pair, not professional background. The results were documents that were linguistically competent and contextually wrong.
A natural gas transportation agreement has specific commercial structures that only carry their correct legal and commercial meaning when the translator understands how gas transportation actually works. A patient discharge summary has clinical terminology that only translates correctly when the translator has clinical training. A corporate acquisition document has representations and warranties that only translate accurately when the translator understands what those provisions are protecting against.
